Wendy Davis I am a long-time self-employed graphic designer. I have been creative since I was a kid, and knew I wanted to have a career in the arts. Being a Washington state native, I attended Western Washington University and then the Art Institute of Seattle.  After college I moved to the Bay Area and worked two years in Silicon Valley doing graphic design for the technology sector, then moved north up the peninsula to the hot-bed of urban creativity—the Haight Ashbury neighborhood of San Francisco. I lived there for 10 years where I worked freelance graphic design in the financial, publishing and technology industries. I then moved north out of the fog to the sunny environs of San Rafael in Marin County where I met and married my husband Scott. In 2003 our little family moved to the historic gold mining town of Mariposa outside Yosemite in the Sierra foothills. There I worked raising my two kids as well as some chickens, cows, pigs, horses and an incredible garden! In 2015, after a 30+ year absence, we moved our family back to Vancouver. Life here has allowed me to take up a longtime dream of painting in oils. (Turns out that huge attic space upstairs is the perfect spot for my studio!) I am new to painting and its great fun exploring various painting styles. Scott put together a fabulous pochade box and easel for me and I have been thrilled to try out plein air painting in the gorgeous Pacific Northwest. Copyright 2018 NW Oil Painters Guild
